NATURE OF THE PROJECT

A vast laboratory re-examining the relationship between humankind and nature

 

  • A vast tourism, museum and ecological project bringing together the Biodôme, Botanical Garden, Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium, Insectarium and Biodiversity Centre
  • The goal of the project is to expand the mission of Canada's largest natural science museum complex, i.e. of bringing visitors to understand and appreciate the natural sciences and nature itself

    CHARACTERISTICS

    The project incorporates a number of initiatives:

     

  • Construction of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium
  • Construction of the Montréal Biodiversity Centre
  • Creation of a Human Ecosystem exhibition at the Biodôme
  • Introduction of a Metamorphosis project at the Insectarium
  • Creation of a Nature Museums Esplanade linking the four institutions and offering visitors an experience symbolizing the relathionship between humans and nature
  •
