Outremont site: a participatory planning process for the areas around the site is launched

The city of Montréal today launched a vast participatory planning process for the industrial areas around the future university and residential neighbourhood to be built on the Université de Montréal's Outremont site. The "Getting on Track/Ouvrir la voie" citizen forum will be examining the future of the large 80-hectare site along the Canadian Pacific railway lines in the Marconi-Alexandra, Atlantic, Beaumont and De Castelnau sectors. The different phases in the citizen forum will lead to the drafting of an urban, economic and social development plan (PDUES), a first for Montréal, to guide the city's initiatives in these sectors.
